Expatriator Publishes the Scoring Ruler Behind Its 63-Country Settlement Index
Version 1.0.1 covers 63 countries across six pillars and 36 attributes, publishes all 108 scoring anchors, and lets seven migrant profiles weight the same evidence differently.
SAN JUAN, Puerto Rico, July 21, 2026. Expatriator today published version 1.0.1 of the Expatriator Index together with the complete scoring ruler behind it: the 1, 5, and 10 anchor for each of its 36 attributes, 108 anchors in total, applied to 63 countries for people deciding where to live, work, retire, build a company, or raise a family.
Each country is assessed across six pillars: Access, Economic, Optionality, Community, Resilience, and Lifestyle. The attributes underneath them include visa availability, tax burden, housing, citizenship path, healthcare, schools, infrastructure, climate risk, and daily comfort. A score of 10 always means a better result for the migrant; for burden measures such as cost of living or tax, 10 means the burden is lower.
Seven profiles reweight the same evidence: Digital Nomad, AI-Displaced Worker, Political Refugee, Family, Regime Arbitrageur, FIRE Seeker, and Wellness Migrant. The weighting shifts which attributes count most for the person asking, while the underlying country evidence stays fixed.
A ranking that shows its judgment
The Index presents its numbers as ordinal, versioned editorial judgments based on public evidence at a stated review date. A country rated 8 outranks a country rated 6 for the chosen profile, and the gap between them carries no claim of scientific precision. Expatriator publishes the anchor rationales, baseline assumptions, demographic gates, evidence dates, review metadata, and re-anchoring policy that produced each number.
Version 1.0.1 was reviewed on July 10, 2026. The country evidence registry carries integrity fingerprints, so validation fails if score evidence or review metadata changes without a renewed snapshot.
From comparison to a real immigration path
The Index is the Country Intelligence layer of Expatriator's three-part product. A reader can compare countries, inspect the methodology, open a country guide, and then bring personal facts such as citizenship, income, family, and timing into a private case. The Case Manager helps carry a chosen process through route comparisons, checklists, documents, and supported appointment alerts. The Compliance Manager is designed to monitor obligations and deadlines over time.
Government submissions and bookings remain the user's own actions, and cases that need legal judgment can be handed to a qualified professional.
