Grenada

CBI + E-2 Treaty

Grenada's CBI program has a unique advantage: it's the only Caribbean country with a US E-2 Treaty. This means Grenada citizenship provides a path to live and work in the United States, making it the CBI of choice for those with American ambitions.

Immigration Overview

Grenada's citizenship by investment program launched in 2013, and it quickly found its niche: the US E-2 Treaty connection. Grenada is one of only a handful of countries with a treaty allowing citizens to obtain the US E-2 investor visa, which provides renewable residence in the United States for those who invest in a US business.

For entrepreneurs, digital nomads, or anyone wanting flexibility between the US and the rest of the world, Grenada offers something unique. You get a Caribbean passport with strong global mobility (145+ countries visa-free), zero taxes, and a legitimate pathway to US residence without the years-long wait of other visa categories.

Visa & Residency Pathways

Why Grenada?

US E-2 Access

Only Caribbean CBI with US E-2 Treaty. Invest $100k+ in a US business, get renewable residence to live and work in America.

Global Mobility

145+ visa-free countries including EU, UK, China, Singapore, Hong Kong. Strong passport in its own right.

Zero Tax

No income tax, capital gains tax, inheritance tax, or wealth tax on worldwide income.

Visa-Free China

One of the few Caribbean passports with visa-free access to mainland China (30 days).

Spice Island

Beautiful island (if you want to visit): nutmeg plantations, quiet beaches, lower tourist volume than neighbors.

Family Inclusion

Include spouse, children, parents, grandparents, and unmarried siblings. One of the most generous family policies.

General Requirements

Requirements for Grenada CBI:

  • Clean criminal record (worldwide)
  • No visa refusals to US, UK, Canada, or Schengen
  • Legitimate source of funds documentation
  • Health certificate
  • Complete personal history disclosure
  • Professional and bank reference letters
  • University degree or equivalent experience

Total costs for the donation route including government fees, due diligence, and legal typically run $270,000-320,000 for a single applicant. The E-2 visa process is separate and requires additional investment in a US business plus legal fees.

E-2 Strategy: Many applicants obtain Grenada citizenship specifically for E-2 access. The typical path is: obtain Grenada passport (4-6 months), then apply for E-2 at a US consulate (2-3 months). You'll need a business plan showing the US investment will employ Americans.
