Immigration Overview
Twenty years ago, Colombia was not on anyone's expat radar. Today, Medellin regularly tops "best city for digital nomads" lists, and for good reason. The city transformed itself from one of the world's most dangerous to one of its most innovative, investing heavily in public transportation, urban parks, and infrastructure.
The climate is the hook: Medellin sits at 5,000 feet in a valley, giving it year-round temperatures around 70-80F. But the substance goes deeper: genuinely affordable cost of living ($1,200-2,000/month), excellent healthcare, a growing tech and startup scene, and some of the friendliest people you'll meet anywhere. The 2022 Digital Nomad Visa formalized what many were already doing on tourist visas.
